The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's expected for doubts to be raised about his future following another convincing loss versus the Dutch champions.

The Reds endured their ninth loss in 12 matches, marking the club's worst streak since being relegated in the 1953-54 season.

They were outplayed by the Eredivisie title holders on a tough night at their home ground.

“I feel secure, I'm fine, I have got a lot of backing from management,” the coach stated.

“It would be great to change things and secure a win of course but when you're working as a coach and underperforming then it is normal that doubts arise.”

He added, “I accept my situation. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a difficult position but it's necessary that we turned it around.”

Conversations with Club Management

Upon being questioned to elaborate on his dialogues with the team officials, Slot explained:

“We communicate frequently. They are helpful for the squad and for me and we have those conversations but they don’t call me every single minute of the day to say they have faith in me.”

He added, “In the normal discussions I perceive the confidence. However I haven’t spoken to them after this defeat so far so it remains to be seen.”

Recurring Issues and Squad Reaction

Slot lamented known shortcomings from his squad in their Champions League defeat, specifically poor finishing and defensive lapses.

Meanwhile, player Jones was blunter in his assessment of the current crisis.

“I don’t have the solutions. Frankly, I do not. I'm telling that to everyone,” the midfielder stated.

“It's simply unacceptable. I don’t even need to wait to reflect. I'm beyond being angry inside. I've reached the stage now where I just don’t have the phrases.”

He added, “It’s hard because I’m playing for the club I love. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club since I was young.”

“In a long, long time, I haven’t experienced a Reds side enduring a phase like this with performances this poor.”

He finished, “But we still have that badge on our shirts. And until it is gone, we’re always going to compete.”

“We’re going to try to bring this squad back to its rightful place, demonstrate to all once more what Liverpool stands for and why it's known as the greatest side in the world.”
