Beloved Star Pat Finn, Recognized For Roles in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
American entertainer Finn, who featured in popular TV shows such as Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer passed away at his residence in LA on Monday after undergoing cancer treatment since 2022, per news outlets.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones shared in a message.
They continued that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer famous for delegating unpleasant chores to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several well-known programs, such as:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six called Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners during his career and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
