Brian Eno Urges Support to Send Together for Palestine Song to UK Christmas No 1.
A fundraising initiative is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The project hopes to deliver assistance to Gaza's residents while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.
An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"
Musician and artist Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a opportunity to stand with Palestinians during the holidays. He noted the potential for an unexpected chart success.
âIt would be incredible if that came to pass, yes,â he stated. âI wouldn't be completely disheartened if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a thing unto themselves.â
Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's defiant core message.
âIt has a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,â Barghouti said. âThe message is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we deserve as Palestinians.â
Production History and Featured Artists
The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. Initially planned to be captured during the live event, the rendition was cut from the show due to time constraints.
The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which successfully generated a considerable total for humanitarian aid.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The single features a mix of the heritage language with freshly written English words.
The team running the project have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a specific fund. These proceeds will be distributed to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
âWe donât have a rigid aim,â a spokesperson said. âWe aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. It all goes out to Gaza.â
The reality in the region was noted for its profound destruction, with a vast majority of buildings reportedly destroyed or damaged.
âAgainst that backdrop, a handful of millions doesnât make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating the human dimension of the story.â
The song is launching this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
