The UK is prepared to move forward with employing the full worth of immobilized Russian holdings to aid the Ukrainian defense operations, Leader Sir Keir Starmer has stated.

In a shared declaration, the heads of state of the United Kingdom, the French Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany stated that this joint measure would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and compel Moscow to participate in talks.

They further noted that the move would be implemented in tight collaboration with the US.

United Kingdom sanctions have blocked in excess of £25bn of Russian funds since the Russian government began its comprehensive attack against the Ukrainian nation in 2022. Yet, until now, resources allocated to Ukraine using Russian funds had exclusively been taken from profits and interest accrued on them.

Sir Keir informed Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, France, and Germany were in agreement in their aim to push forward toward employing the full value of the frozen Moscow's national holdings to end the war.

He noted that additional measures over the next period would apply more pressure on Russia.

This announcement comes after EU officials convened in the Danish capital last week to consider utilizing immobilized Russian funds for a 140-billion-euro loan to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump encouraged international partners to take or utilize immobilized Russian assets, according to media sources.

The value of frozen Russia's assets in the European Union is assessed to be nearly €211bn.

Leader Zelensky encourages the United Kingdom's Sir Keir Starmer to join the weapons procurement initiative

The Russian government carried out large-scale missile and drone strikes throughout the Ukrainian territory on that day, causing electricity outages in large parts of Kyiv, Kyiv, and several other zones.

Several persons were lost their lives and at least 20 people were hurt in the strike, Ukrainian officials stated.

In a post on X after the strike, Zelensky commented that the strategic strike targeted civilian and energy infrastructure.

"The necessity is not mere statements but decisive action - from the America, the European Union, and the Group of Seven - in supplying air defence systems and applying penalties," he emphasized.

"Every sanction decision weakens the Russian war effort," Zelensky declared, in a different message.

In the same period, Zelensky told the press he would press Sir Keir to enter the weapons procurement program, under which alliance members purchase weapons from the US to provide to Ukraine.

While praising the UK's strong support for the Ukrainian government, he said it should indicate firmly that it would take part in the program, as well as enforce more restrictions on Russia.
