NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage includes text commentary for the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (from 14:00 BST). Also, radio commentary is available on select stations covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , after recent talk about two top teams as a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests were the number of infractions both committed. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they kind of beat themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period against Denver, who play overseas this Sunday.

However it was good to see that Denver's QB the rookie was able to overcome the shortfall before direct three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, securing the game 21-17.

The Broncos boast the defensive player of the year in cornerback their star corner. They are first in red zone defence, whereas the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They executed effective strategies in terms of simulated pressure. They did not always sending extra defenders instead they could plug two LBs in the interior before drop them out and send a slot defender from the outside.

Early on of the season, it was noted on a program how the Broncos might emerge as the current year's dark horses. They ended last season well and excelled of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has excelled big while recent RB JK Dobbins is a player the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows how Denver represent a squad aiming to run first, since one can achieve much off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in positive down and distances.

It's also helped quarterback Bo Nix, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection in the prior draft, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert have the arm strength to pass anywhere, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He has exceptional arm talent, a unique trait, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths include his movement, the capacity to throw on the run, as well as using different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls outside protection, the bootlegs. He can throw that layered pass over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and can throw under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

If you consistently run the ball it consumes time and makes the defence to be on the field extended periods, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves draining.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline sometimes and I think the coach likes that fire, seeing him as a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a rookie QB that is similar to play-dough. He can truly develop him the way he wants to shape him. I believe it's a special experience for him.

Payton owns a championship and now passed Bill Parcells for career NFL wins (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the achievements Denver are experiencing on offence is mostly due to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the pairing with Nix aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and boost confidence.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance by the Eagles in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, that's a good place to be in their division. All they need to do is maintain this path.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is running the ball, and that's exactly what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (in the bottom ten), and they are the only team without a win a game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the inaugural squad to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is kind of shocking when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

Patrick Mahomes says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
